| Abstract | Imagens esteroscópicas do sensor ASTER/Terra e pontos de controle obtidos em uma base cartográfica com precisão conhecida foram utilizados na geração de um Modelo Digital de Elevação (MDE) em área montanhosa, com o auxílio do modelo matemático de Toutin. A qualidade do MDE foi avaliada por meio das Normas Técnicas da Cartografia Nacional e, assim, foram empregados o Erro Padrão (EP) e o Padrão de Exatidão Cartográfica (PEC). Com relação aos resultados da altimetria, o MDE apresentou tendência e atingiu PEC classe B, escala 1:50.000. Por outro lado, a validação planimétrica indicou que os dados são adequados para mapeamento temático na escala 1:50.000. ABSTRACT ASTER/Terra stereoscopic images and ground control points obtained from a cartographic dataset with known accuracy were used to generate a DEM in a mountainous area, with the aid of Toutin´s model. The DEM quality was evaluated based on the National Cartography Technical Norms by means of the so-called Standard Error (EP in Portuguese) and Cartographic Standard Accuracy (PEC in Portuguese) were employed. Concerning the elevation accuracy, the DEM presented trend and was labeled as PEC class B at a 1:50,000 scale. On the other hand, the planimetric validation indicated that the data are suitable for thematic mapping at a 1:50,000 scale. |
